Description

This design uses modern ideas, to accommodate a disabled couple and their personal challenges. The design chosen focuses on spectrum of neutral colors. The residence style will be based on a minimalistic design, to remove clutter and create an ease of movement. This will also require a spacious design one that is open and complies with ADA design to ensure functionality for both Olivia and Nunzio.

Olivia is a paraplegic, with her wheelchair she needs enough space for not just movement or ease, but also ability to easily turn and go around the space. This means a functional kitchen, with furniture that is easily accessible for both. The furniture should be automatic and the height should be flexible depending on the user.

Nunzio has the onset of glaucoma, therefore the lighting in the space is his main concern. Lights that are excessively bright or excessively dim would be a hazard to him, therefore well-balanced lighting with as little glare as possible is ideal. It is important for Nunzio to have a high contrasting space to be able to easily understand where everything is and to be able to perform tasks effortlessly.
