Hello there,

Thank you for taking the time to review my work.

About me

My name is Dina Arafa, I am an Egyptian designer born and raised in Saudi Arabia. I attained a B.F.A. in Interior Design from Savannah, College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Atlanta GA, USA from 2015-2019, working there in 2020. I then went on to complete my M.A. in Interior design in London, UK from University of the Arts London (UAL) From 2023-2024.

Through my various experiences in multiple different cultures and backgrounds, I have gained a unique field of training and a wide range of design experience. This experience has allowed me to explore diverse design practices ranging from the ornate and deeply historically cultural design practices of Egypt and the grand and luxurious interiors in Saudi Arabia, to the large and modern design practices in the US, as well as the historically conscious and conservation-focused aspects of London.

Throughout this varied experience I have consistently excelled in finding niche areas of need for spatial design and creating hyper-detailed interiors focused on user experience and comfort.

What I enjoy the most about design is the way in which what I create connects to real people on the other side. Knowing that every nook and space needs to be considerate of who and what it is used for requires a level of detail and care that drives me. In many of my designs I find focusing on mobility disability is a highly underutilised aspect that I push to be inclusive of. I hope to continue to show how disability considerations can and should exist in all projects beyond the legal interior code.

As a person, I feel my greatest defining factors are my love of imaginative design, innovative concepts and the deep level of care and consideration I assign for those who may struggle in a space. I am a very focused and hardworking person who pushes to create at the highest level in the most efficient way whilst maintaining an attention to detail. Past colleagues have described me as very reliable and accountable in terms of organisation, communication and time management. I am often relied on in crisis situations as I have a calm and pragmatic attitude towards issues and always find ways to create solutions even in more dire situations.

Overall, in all areas of life, I know that I am always capable of growing, learning more, and improving, and so I hope to keep pushing myself every day to become a better designer who is more creative, considerate, and responsible.

To design is to impact.
